Because of the splay of the drawer fronts, the layout of these dovetails was interesting. The bottom edge of the bottom tail is parallel to the bottom of the drawer. A little unusual, but this layout was most aesthetically pleasing to my eye.
Closing in on Dovetails
More drawer parts. Here I'm cleaning up the bottom edges of the sides before ripping to finished width. It's nice to work such small parts after the large drawers in my recent chest of drawers. Dovetails soon. Pins first, of course.
Always Preppin'
Prepping drawer parts. This is quartersawn curly maple, for the drawer sides and backs. It isn't very machine friendly, but the hand tools love it.
Tiny Drawer Pulls
I turned some teeny pulls for some small drawers I'm working on. I usually wait until the very end to make drawer pulls, but for some reason decided to make these before the drawers. I don't know why.
Iris
Another image of this walnut chest of drawers. I call it Iris.
